With a broad set of skills as a Physical Therapist and a laser focus on
the most appropriate progression of interventions, patient education, and
advancement to long-term management or resolution of your problem,
you will receive individualized care that results in meaningful change.
"I strive to create lasting relationships with each and every patient built on trust.
I listen to your goals and tailor your therapy based on your preferences.
I will instill a sense of empowerment that results in PIVOTAL change.
The ultimate goal is successful outcomes and happy customers."
Performance of specialized joint manual skills for the neck, spine, and pelvis such as spinal manipulations and muscle energy techniques.
Muscular interventions are implemented including dry needling, kinesiology taping, and IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization).
There is a strong focus on spinal and sacro-pelvic stability through dynamic core stabilization while improving joint mobility and alignment when needed.
The goal is for you to be like a gymnast...strong yet flexible!
Back pain and sacro-iliac joint pain can be terribly debilitating but skilled PT has been shown to be quite effective and an excellent alternative or adjunct to pain medications. Find out more below from a Harvard Health article outlining the benefits of physical therapy for spinal stenosis.
Specialized physical therapy is performed for the clinical assessment and treatment of BPPV, vertigo, dizziness, balance impairments, and post-concussion rehab to improve patient safety and quality of life.
A measured approach is taken in order to achieve progress and
reach therapy goals based on scientifically proven interventions.
*Home exercises are especially important in achieving optimal results.
I completed the nationally ranked Doctor of Physical Therapy program at UAB in 2014
after working 20 years as a Physical Therapist Assistant in multiple settings.
A long and varied career in Physical Therapy has resulted in
a well-rounded perspective related to managing the care of my patients.
I also obtained a Master of Arts in Public and Private Management degree from Birmingham-Southern College.
With the MPPM, I developed an entrepreneurial spirit and learned excellent business management skills
that allow me to serve my community with honor and distinction.
On a personal note...I enjoy family time, working in the yard, hiking, jogging, going to the lake,
and travelling (this photo shows part of our next trip that will include Cinque Terre in Italy).
Helping others to reach their maximum potential.
Acceptance, caring, diversity, friendship, and community.
A strong work ethic and always going above & beyond
for those who have entrusted me with their care.
As your Physical Therapist of choice, we can work together to create lasting benefits for your mobility, recreation, health, and overall well-being.
Pivotal Physical Therapy can be a catalyst for positive change in your life.
One of my favorite quotes is from the one-and-only Dolly Parton:
"If you don't like the road you're walking, start paving another one."
